    • Sharing new Cards and putting the word out to drive demand
    • Getting Collected so they can create more Packs.
  • Collectors can earn by
    • Making trades for popular Cards.
    • Collecting Sets from popular creators, so they can gain bonus Cards.

What are Cards on Revel?

Cards are photos, videos, and text-to-AI artwork users share on Revel.

What is a Pack?

  • A Pack is created when a user creates 3 Cards. Each of the three Cards has a different Rarity setting, and different number of Editions.  A user’s initial Pack has 16 Editions:
    • Unique Card → 1 Edition (Purple Indicator)
    • Rare Card → 5 Editions (Blue Indicator)
    • Common Card → 10 Editions (Orange Indicator)

What is Card Rarity?

Rarity provides insight into the number of Editions of a Card.

There can only be 1 Unique Edition in a Pack.

Rare Cards start with 5 Editions.

Common Cards start with 10 Editions.

When a user creates new Packs, their Rare and Common Editions increase with every new Pack.

How are the number of editions determined?

Your first Pack generates 16 total editions. (See “What is a Pack)

As you create new Packs, the number of Rare and Common editions increases.

What does “Creating” a new Pack look like?

  • Creating a new Pack involves creating Cards by uploading 3 media files (photos or videos) or generating text-to-AI artwork.
  • Users choose what rarity type to assign to each of the 3 Cards.
  • Users are prompted to name the Cards.
  • Users are then informed on the number of editions that will be created for each Card /  rarity type.
  • Upon creating the Pack, the Cards are added as editions on Revel.

Who owns the Cards and editions?

  • The creator of the Cards owns the Cards. Other edition owners receive a personal-use license.
  • A portion of each Pack’s editions are distributed to new registered users as part of their starter pack.

Where do Cards live?

  • Cards live in the app and can be accessed under the “Cards” tab on your profile.
  • We are working to allow users to connect a crypto wallet to claim Revel Cards into NFTs on an external wallet.  We will announce when this functionality is released.

Why are some Cards given away?

  • Providing new users with a StarterPack of several editions facilitates Revel’s free-to-play ecosystem, where everyone is welcome to experience Revel and start trading without the need to immediately pay.

What is a Set?

  • A Set is formed when a user collects 3 Cards from the same creator and locks them together.
  • Upon a Set being formed:
    • The creator of the Set Cards is able to create another Pack.
    • The owner of the Set is eligible for Bonus editions from the creator. Bonus editions are received by the Set owner everytime the creator creates a new Pack.

What’s the difference between a Pack and a Set?

  • A Pack is a group of 3 Cards (photos/videos/ generative AI) created by a user on Revel - much like how you post on a social network.
  • Users specify how rare each of the Cards in a Pack is:
    • Unique = One and Only
    • Rare = 5 Editions and up
    • Common = 10 Editions and up
  • A Set is a group of 3 Cards created by one user, collected by another.
    • The user who creates a Set enables the Card creator to create another Pack, and they, themselves, in turn, earn a bonus Card every time the creator creates another Pack.

How do you form a Set?

  • Acquire 3 Cards created by the same user.
  • Click ‘Create a Set’ button on the Dashboard→ You've Collected tab, or on Creator’s user profile
  • This will bring you to a Deck where you can see your Cards from said creator.
  • Upon confirming, the Set is Locked.

How many Packs can I make?

  • All users can create an initial Pack.
  • To create another Pack, another user must create a Set from your Cards, one of each rarity. A Pack create opportunity is unlocked when a Set of your Cards is Locked.
  • You can make an infinite number of Packs, however you can only create up to 3 Packs a day.

What is Proof of Demand minting?

  • Proof of Demand minting is our mechanism to create a healthy supply constraint on Revel.
  • While anyone can create an initial Pack, only people who have been collected can create more.
  • This simplified/gamified experience manages a vast amount of individual economies on Revel.

Do I need to pay for Cards?

  • No. You may trade Cards for Cards.

What are Offers?

  • Offers are trade requests to exchange Cards and/or Revs.
  • On the Trade screen users view Offers Received and Submitted. Users have the option to accept, decline, or counter Received Offers and can revoke Submitted Offers at any time.

What is the difference between a Public & Private Offer?

  • A Public Offer goes to all edition owners of a single Card.
    • This Offer is publicly visible.
    • This Offer impacts the Estimated Card Value.
    • Public Offers are limited to trading for a Single Card.
  • A Private Offer is a specific offer between two users.
    • This Offer is not publicly communicated.
    • Private Offers allow users to trade for multiple Cards.
    • Private Offers can be made to another user from their profile.

How do I counter a Public Offer?

  • Users can counter a Public Offer or a Private Offer.
    • Once a Public Offer is countered - it becomes a Private Offer.

What is a starter pack?

  • A starter pack contains Cards distributed to new users from Packs previously created by other users.

How is Estimated Card Value calculated?

  • Estimated Card Value is denoted by the tilda (~) symbol.  All Cards start with a default Estimated Card Values of:
    • Common = 1 $R
    • Rare = 10 $R
    • Unique = 100 $R
  • When an Card is traded or has a pending Offer, the Estimated Card Value changes to based on, amongst other things:
    • The last trade of that Card or
    • The highest Offer for that Card.
  • Estimated Card Value also drives:
    • The Estimated Offer Value that users see when making and receiving Offers.
    • Portfolio Value.
    • A User’s Net Worth.

Who owns an Card and what are the IP/ commercial rights of ownership?

  • The user who creates a Card owns the Card so long as the underlying media does not infringe on  IP or copyrights.
  • When a user trades for or otherwise receives Cards created by other users, they receive a personal-use non-commercial license to use the Cards.
    • Read about Revel’s non-commercial license policy in our Terms of Use
  • Revel reserves the right to remove Cards or users that infringe on another’s IP or if we determine the Card is malicious, obscene and/or inappropriate by nature.

How does Revel address copyright issues?

  • Users are able to flag and report copyright issues and we follow DMCA guidelines if processing IP removal requests. We can do so during the period the Cards are lazy created on Revel.
  • Further, the creator who creates the Card is the Card owner and retains IP rights.  Users who then own editions of the Card have a personal use, non-commercial license of the Card.

What is a Non-Commercial License?

  • A Non-Commercial License allows the edition owner personal use and display use of the Card.
  • It allows the edition owner to sell the edition under the same non-commercial License.
  • It does NOT allow the user to exploit the Card’s edition commercially. An example of commercial use is using the Card/ edition for advertising purposes.
  • For more, see our Terms and Conditions here.

Can I buy more Revs?

  • Revs are available for purchase in-app and on the web.

Can I trade a whole Set?

  • To trade Cards in a Set, you must unlock the Set. Once unlocked, you can submit a private trade offer that includes all three Cards from the previously locked Set.

How do I unlock a Set?

  • Tap the Lock icon on the Set that you own and would like to Unlock.
  • Once you Unlock a Set, you will no longer be eligible for Harvest Drops from that Set.

Can my Cards in a Set still receive offers/be traded?

Yes! Offers can be made on Cards in a Set but can only be traded once the owner of the Set unlocks it.

How can I directly trade with a user?

  • For multiple Card trades, you can counter a Public Offer or make a Private Offer on the user’s profile.
  • For offers on a single Card, you can make an offer on an edition said user owns. The offer will go to all editions owners of that Card.

  • There is no Revel crypto token.  Only NFTs.

Can I add my Cards to a Crypto wallet?

  • Yes.  Users can withdraw Revs on the Revel.xyz desktop website to USD once reaching the cash out minimum balance (2500 Revs).

What is a cool off period?

  • A cool off period occurs when the user has surpassed the maximum number of Packs that can be created in one day. Users can create up to 3 Packs per day.

Why does a cool off period exist?

  • A cool off period establishes a proof of demand economy, ensuring that the Explore feed is diverse and not dominated by a single creator's Pack.

What happens if a Set of my Cards is locked during my cool off period?

  • If you are notified that you are eligible to create during the cool off period, the amount of times you can (depending on Set creations) are rolled over to the following day.
  • Currently, creating Packs does not stack. For example, if 2 people create a Set of your Cards before you create, you will not be able to create twice.

Do Offers Expire?

  • Yes. Offers expire after 14 days if they are not accepted, rejected, or countered.
